ABA Connections was founded as a response to the increasing prevalence of diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorders and/or other mental health, developmental, or behavioural challenges; as well as the ever-growing waitlist for Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) services in Ottawa and across Ontario. ABA Connections was founded by its current President and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), Leigh Giles in 2015.
ABA Connections initially began by conducting individual sessions for clients in their home. As demand for services grew, ABA Connections opened the first ABA Connections center which consisted of a single office rental where clients could attend sessions in a proper clinical environment. Following the summer of 2016, ABA Connections moved to a larger office space and hired its first employee to assist in delivering therapy.
The spring of 2017 brought forth another change for ABA Connections as the company moved to a larger space to accommodate its growing clientele and the need for summer services which included the now yearly “Summer School Skills” Program. ABA Connections also saw new faces join the family including Senior Therapists, Lead Therapists and Instructor Therapists.
Since then, ABA Connections has grown from a single staff member serving just four families, to an organization that now serves over forty families, with over fifteen staff members and volunteers
