ABA Connections is dedicated to providing high-quality, ethical, and affordable services for children and families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or similar learning, developmental, or behavioural challenges.
Hours Per Week: Sundays 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm
Start Date: As soon as possible
End Date: June 23rd, 2019; with possibility for extension
About the Group
Our Children’s Social Group provides children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other developmental, learning, or behavioural challenges the opportunity to engage socially with peers in a safe, supportive environment. The group is geared towards children aged 3 years – 8 years of all skill-sets and interests, and is led by ABA-Trained Facilitators and volunteers.
As a social group volunteer, your role will be to assist the group facilitators in group preparation, facilitation, and clean up. You will help with the supervision and engagement of participants, which may include feeding and/or personal care needs. Training and supervision provided.
Possess or be working towards a high school diploma or equivalent
Passion and interest in working with children, and particularly children with special needs
Experience working with children, specifically children with special needs
Theoretical and/or practical experience in Applied Behaviour Analysis (preferred)
Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
Valid First Aid/CPR certification (preferred)
Responsible, outgoing, and enthusiastic!
